Chad Kemenah (46th car out to time) scored quick time at 13.319 seconds on a heavy surface. Terry McCarl (20th car out) was second quick, followed by Jac Haudenschild (33rd), Brock Mayes (13th), Steve Kinser (10th), Tim Shaffer (12th), Jim Nier (21st), Tim Kaeding (11th), Joey Saldana (4th) and Danny Lasoski (24th). Marty Perovich failed to get a time in and scratched for the night.

Heat one (started): 1. Brooke Tatnell 8 (2) 2. Kemenah 15K (4) 3. Mark Smith 1 (1) / 4. Nier 00 (3) 5. Cody Geldart 6G (6) 6. Mike Brecht m20 (5) / 7. Stevie Smith 19 (7) 8. Jason Dukes 3 (8) 9. Barry Ruble 63 (9)

The old Kings Royal format returned with the exception of the invert. The six, eight lap heat races had an invert of four, taking the top three finishers to the A, the next three to the B, and so on. Tatnell led the distance in a mostly single file affair on a lightning surface. M. Smith lost a cylinder late and Kemenah got by, but he held on to the final feature transfer.

Heat two (started): 1. Daryn Pittman 21 (1) 2. Sammy Swindell 5 (2) 3. Kaeding 83 (3) 4. McCarl 24 (4) / 5. Jason Meyers 14 (6) 6. Brian Paulus 28 (5) 7. Dean Jacobs 29 (7) / 8. Kevin Huntley 70 (8) 9. Adam Zabonick 0z (9)

Pittman led flag to flag, while Swindell and Kaeding took a few sliders at each other. McCarl made the feature event as one of the two quickest qualifiers not making it out of the heat. Todd Kane qualified the Grove 70, but Huntley took over for the heat and the rest of the night.

Heat three (started): 1. Haudenschild 83JR (4) 2. Butch Schroeder 7K (2) 3. Saldana 2 (3) / 4. Shane Stewart 26 (5) 5. Jeff Shepard 9 (1) 6. Dale Blaney 2x (6) / 7. Jeff Rankin 40z (8) 8. Paul McMahan 11H (7)

Schroeder led throughout until the final corner, when Haud sized him up and shot around the outside of him for the win. Saldana looked strong. Stewart made his pass of Shepard on the final go-around. McMahan was ailing when he dropped out.

Heat four (started): 1. Phil Gressman 18 (2) 2. Randy Hannagan 1x (6) 3. Lasoski 20 (3) / 4. Danny Smith 4 (1) 5. Brandon Wimmer 7TW (5) 6. Brock Mayes 11B* (4) 7. Chad Blonde 5B (7) / 8. Ryan Myers 56R (8)

As Gressman took the early lead from D. Smith, Hannagan was coming strong from the third row, looping Mayes. He quickly disposed of Lasoski and D. Smith. Lasoski battled D. Smith for the final transfer before sliding under to take on the final go-around after a fierce battle. Mayes took the second transfer to the A for quick qualifiers.

Heat five (started): 1. Kraig Kinser 11K (2) 2. Greg Wilson 22 (1) 3. S. Kinser 11 (4) / 4. Donny Schatz 15 (5) 5. Jimmy Stinson 84 (3) 6. Ryan Coniam 46 (6) / 7. Jason Sides 7s (7) 8. Keith Baxter 1B (8)

K. Kinser led this mostly single-file affair the distance.

Heat six (started): 1. Jason Solwold R19 (1) 2. Kenny Jacobs 2H (2) 3. Shaffer 6 (4) / 4. Rob Chaney 9x (5) 5. Craig Dollansky 7 (6) 6. Jeremy Campbell 10c (3) / 7. Ed Neumeister 11N (7) DNS Lucas Wolfe 5w

Solwold led the distance, going away. The best racing was between Dollansky and Campbell back in the pack.

C main (started): 1. S. Smith (1) 2. McMahan (2) 3. Sides (3) 4. Baxter (7) 5. Huntley (11) / 6. Neumeister (8) 7. Ruble (9) 8. Myers (6) 9. Dukes (4) 10. Rankin (5) 11. Zabonick (10) DNS Wolfe

Zabonick took a hard tumble in turn two before a lap could be completed. Attrition was the name of the game in this 10 lapper as Dukes and Myers both dropped out while running fourth. Huntley was the beneficiary running a strong race and avoiding disaster at one point to grab the final transfer to the tail of the B.

B main (started): 1. Schatz (8) 2. Campbell (3) 3. Stinson (2) 4. Meyers (13) / 5. Chaney (11) 6. Paulus (7) 7. Dollansky (14) 8. Wimmer (9) 9. Brecht (6) 10. Blaney (12) 11. Baxter (21) 12. S. Smith (18) 13. Huntley (22) 14. McMahan (19) 15. Nier (1) 16. Geldart (10) 17. Sides (20) 18. Blonde (16) 19. Stewart (6) 20. Coniam (15) 21. D. Smith (5) 22. D. Jacobs (17) DNS Shepard

Stinson shot out to an early. There was plenty of passing in this one after Blonde spun and Schatz jumped a start before a lap could be completed. Schatz went to work in the 16 lapper, picking his way forward and taking the point at the halfway mark. Stewart was running third, and in an effort to hold off a charging Meyers, spun out of it on lap 12 and exited. The fastest car at the end could have been Chaney, but he needed a couple more laps to challenge Meyers.

A main (started): 1. S. Kinser (4) 2. Saldana (1) 3. Lasoski (7) 4. Haudenschild (5) 5. Shaffer (3) 6. K. Kinser (12) 7. Kemenah (6) 8. Pittman (15) 9. McCarl (19) 10. Solwold (17) 11. Meyers (24) 12. Kaeding (2) 13. Schatz (21) 14. Hannagan (18) 15. M. Smith (14) 16. Gressman (11) 17. Campbell (22) 18. K. Jacobs (13) 19. Swindell (9) 20. Mayes (20) 21. Tatnell (8) 22. Wilson (16) 23. Stinson (23) 24. Schroeder (10)

Saldana shot to the cushion and led early in the 40 lapper. S. Kinser wrestled second from Kaeding after a nice battle. Kaeding looked strong and was coming back into position to make a pass of his own before spinning on lap 19 in turn two. He restarted at the rear, but had to repeat his starting spot when his right rear flattened on lap 22. The lap 22 restart saw Saldana leading S. Kinser, Lasoski, Haudenschild, Shaffer and Kemenah. On lap 31, S. Kinser made his move sliding under Saldana to lead the rest of the way for his sixth crown. Jack Hewitt was on hand to crown him. $5,000 was presented by Tony Stewart to Jack for Codys recovery funds. S. Kinsers win came despite two late race yellows. One was a lap 38 for a Schatz right rear flat, and Swindell getting into the wall on lap 39. Tatnell contacted the wall while running eighth on the lap 38 restart. Wilson exited after losing debris from a side panel on lap 22. Schroeder exited on lap 19, Stinson on lap 20.

360s

One lap of qualifying was given to the 360s. Kent Wolters (5th car out to time) set quick time at 14.526 seconds. Adam West (24th car out), former KIDD program driver at Knoxville, was second quick, followed by Darren Long (22nd), Tim Allison (25th), Tim Hunter (13th), Mike Miller (8th), Ron Blair (18th), Caleb Griffith (2nd), Matt Alloway (6th) and Sean Robinson (3rd). Kevin Huntley failed to get a time in.

Heat one (started): 1. Wolters 1 (4) 2. Allison 11 (3) 3. Robinson 1R (1) 4. Dwain Leiber 62 (5) 5. Jack Pillon 18 (6) / 6. Blair 35 (2) 7. Mike Dunlap 2B (8) 8. Brad Keckler 3K (10) 9. Jeremy Keegan 24 (7) 10. Jeff Williams 5w (9) DNS Kevin Huntley 7c

Eight lap heats transferred the top five to the A main. Robinson grabbed the early advantage over Wolters before a lap five spin by J. Keegan. Wolters got by Robinson on the restart to take the point. Allison took second on another restart a lap later, after J. Keegan contacted the wall. Leiber used the restarts to his advantage in moving into a transfer spot and into fourth with a last lap pass of Pillon.

Heat two (started): 1. Mike Brecht 20 (1) 2. Hunter 12H (3) 3. Griffith 12 (2) 4. West 30 (4) 5. Brandon Daniels 10 (6) / 6. JR Stewart 37s (5) 7. Eddie Rhine 98 (8) 8. Daryl Turford 93 (9) 9. Dennis Ward Jr. 21w (7) 10. Bob Geer 2G (10)

Brecht led flag to flag. Hunter and Griffith waged war, exchanging sliders in some great racing action for second.

Heat three (started): 1. Long 7 (4) 2. Alloway 37A (2) 3. Marty Ling 26 (1) 4. Miller 82 (3) 5. Mike Dussel 6 (5) / 6. Dennis Yoakam 22D (6) 7. Casey Luedeke 16K (9) 8. Bob Carman 54 (6) 9. Jarod Potter 2 (10) 10. Dustin Keegan 17x (8)

Alloway grabbed the early advantage, but was under constant pressure from Long who made a last ditch effort pay off as he diamonded the fourth turn on the final circuit to take the win.

B main (started): 1. J. Keegan (4) 2. Stewart (2) 3. Yoakam (6) 4. Blair (1) 5. Dunlap (7) / 6. Rhine (8) 7. Carman (3) 8. Keckler (13) 9. Potter (14) 10. Geer (12) 11. Luedeke (10) 12. D. Keegan (9) 13. Ward (5) 14. Turford (11) DNS Williams, Huntley

Turford exited immediately. Ward elected to start at the tail and retired as well. The original front row starters were black-flagged and sent back a row. J. Keegan took advantage and led the distance from the front row. The lone caution came out for D. Keegan who stopped on lap six of ten. J. Keegan led Stewart, Blair, Geer, Yoakam and Rhine back to green flag racing. Yoakam made a nice charge up to third after the restart, and Rhine came just short of the final transfer.

A main (started): 1. Allison (1) 2. Hunter (5) 3. Brecht (10) 4. Alloway (8) 5. Griffith (7) 6. Miller (6) 7. Ling (11) 8. West (3) 9. Yoakam (18) 10. Dussel (13) 11. Leiber (12) 12. Pillon (14) 13. Stewart (17) 14. Daniels (15) 15. Long (2) 16. Blair (19) 17. Wolters (4) 18. Robinson (9) 19. J. Keegan (16) 20. Dunlap (20)

Allison led the distance, but there was plenty of action in this 25 lapper. J. Keegan got upside down at the first try at green in turn one. Dunlap could not avoid, sheering his top wing off while driving under an airborne J. Keegan. Both were uninjured. Wolters was right on his tail on lap four when Dussel came to a stop. Allison led Wolters, Long, a charging Brecht and Alloway back to green flag racing. Hunter was charging and had moved into the top three after Wolters made contact with the wall having dropped back to fourth. Now Allison led Long, Hunter, Brecht and Alloway. Eight more laps were in the books when Long, who had been running along the wall and lost the runner-up spot to Hunter, lost to the turn two fence and flipped hard down the track. He was uninjured, but his car wasnt. Hunter had been all over Allison, but the restart saw the leader pull away for good. It was Allisons second victory in as many nights.
