Ian Madsen (1st car out to time) set quick time at 16.183 seconds on the uncharacteristically very hard and slick 3/8-mile surface.  With dust flying in hot laps, you knew things were going to be very dry and the track gave away quickly.  Sammy Swindell (7th car out) was second quick, followed by Terry McCarl (2nd), Bill Balog (15th), Danny Lasoski (14th), Kerry Madsen (18th), Brady Bacon (10th), Brian Brown (8th), Lynton Jeffrey (11th) and Craig Dollansky (5th).  Dakota Hendrickson failed to get a time in.  A push truck rolled over the right rear of Balog

Heat two (started): 1. Cory Eliason 5H (1) 2. Brown (2) 3. Swindell 1 (4) 4. Lasoski 2 (3) 5. Austin Johnson 81 (5) 6. Bronson Maeschen 96 (6) DNS – Dakota Hendrickson 10

Maeschen exited early and sounded like he was on seven cylinders.  Eliason led another parade flag to flag.

Heat three (started): 1. K. Madsen 29 (3) 2. Brooke Tatnell 55 (1) 3. Jeffrey 12 (2) 4. McCarl 24 (4) 5. Brandon Hanks 84 (6) 6. Travis Whitney 16 (5)

Whitney retired early.  Jeffrey took the early lead over K. Madsen and Tatnell.  K. Madsen shot under Jeffrey to take the lead on lap two.  Tatnell followed suit on lap five to move into second.  By then, K. Madsen was gone.

Terry McCarl celebrates his win with the NSL in BrittTerry McCarl celebrates his win with the NSL in Britt A main (started): 1. McCarl (1) 2. I. Madsen (4) 3. K. Madsen (2) 4. Swindell (3) 5. Dollansky (8) 6. Brown (7) 7. Lasoski (9) 8. Eliason (10) 9. Jeffrey (11) 10. Tatnell (12) 11. Hanks (15) 12. Bacon (5) 13. Balog (6) 14. Phillips (18) 15. A. Johnson (14) 16. RJ Johnson (13) 17. Hetrick (19) 18. Whitney (16) 19. Hendrickson (20) 20. Maeschen (17)

The race was shortened from 25 to 20 laps due to the dry track conditions.  McCarl led from the outset, while I. Madsen passed his brother to gain third on the first lap.  With one lap in, Tatnell spun and Hanks stopped on the track.  Both would return after hitting the work area, as would RJ Johnson.  Maeschen, Hendrickson and Whitney went pitside and collected $1,000 to start.  It would prove to be the last caution.  McCarl led I. Madsen, K. Madsen, Swindell and Balog back to green.  On lap four, Dollansky took fifth from Balog and it would prove to be the last change amongst the top five.  Both Bacon and Balog, who won here a year ago, were the only drivers to try and make something happen on the top of the track, but it was no use.  The win was worth $5,000 for McCarl, and came in front of his first car owner, Daryl Arend, and a number of his supporters.
