February 7, 2018 – The Brian Brown Racing Casey’s General Stores/FVP #21 kicks the season off this week at Volusia Speedway Park in Florida. Tonight and tomorrow, Brian will compete with the All Star Circuit of Champions, before the World of Outlaws kick off 2018 with events Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
You haven’t always run in Florida to start the season. Why this year?
We came down last year and had a few issues. But overall, we ran really well. We were looking forward to getting back down here.
It sounded like things went well last night in your warm-up.
Our practice session went well. We were quickest in one of the sessions, so that was good. Chad (Morgan), Michael (Williams) and Dad have worked really hard all winter long. This will give us a test to see how ready we are for the season.
It has to be good to leave your Missouri winter for a while!
Any time we can leave home where it is zero degrees and come to where it’s 80, we’ll take it. We get to race too.
What does your schedule look like the next couple of months?0
We’re running this week at Volusia and then we’ll pick up with the Outlaws again in Las Vegas in March.

Brian’s Bits
Brian last won his season opener on March 14, 2009 at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri. The event was actually the “Turkey Bowl” postponed from the previous November. On a daytime surface, he ran from ninth to first in his heat race. After another weather postponement, he dueled with Sean McClelland for several laps before taking command.
