Daryn Pittman (3rd car out to time) laid down quick time with a lap of 14.872 seconds on a fast track.  Calvin Landis (6th car out) was second quick, followed by Craig Dollansky (1st), Randy Anderson (12th), Dennis Moore Jr. (14th), Jeff Shepard (13th), Dusty Zomer (15th), Donny Schatz (42nd), Randy Hannagan (11th) and Brian Brown (8th).  Jake Peters failed to get a time in, as did Clint Garner and Mark Dobmeier who saw hot lap problems.

Heat one (started): 1. Jason Martin 36 (2) 2. Hannagan 1x (4) 3. Terry McCarl 24 (3) 4. Schatz 15 (5) 5. Pittman 21 (6) / 6. Greg Jones 3J (10) 7. Brian Carlson 18 (7) 8. Brent Antill 1 (9) 9. Tony Shilling 47T (1) 10. Wayne Johnson 5 (8) DNS - Jake Peters 57x

Martin led early before a lap two stoppage by Johnson, who lost a left-side wing panel.  He restarted at the rear, but retired early.  On the restart, Martin led Hannagan, McCarl, Shilling, Schatz and Pittman.  Martin dominated and Schatz got by Shilling for fourth.  Shilling was strong, holding fifth comfortably on the white flag lap, when his motor exploded going down the frontstretch.  The incident was a break for Pittman, who snagged the final transfer.

Heat two (started): 1. Brown 21x (4) 2. Chad Blonde 5B (1) 3. Tony Bruce Jr. 18T (3) 4. Landis 70 (6) 5. Billy Alley 17G (2) / 6. Kaley Gharst 7w (10) 7. Zomer 1z (5) 8. Chris Walraven 56 (7) 9. Bill Rose 6 (8) 10. Matt Moro 47 (9) DNS - Clint Garner 40

Brown circled the front row starters on lap one and never looked back, winning the 8 lapper going away.  Blonde was impressive in his maiden Knoxville voyage.  Gharst came from dead last to threaten for a transfer, coming just short of passing Alley.

Heat three (started): 1. Joey Saldana 9 (4) 2. Dollansky 7 (6) 3. Chad Kemenah 15K (2) 4. Jac Haudenschild 35 (3) 5. Shepard 8 (5) / 6. Mike Moore 69 (9) 7. Don Droud Jr. 86 (7) 8. Skip Jackson 2 (1) 9. Dion Hindi 11D (8) DNS - Dave Saffell 03, Mark Dobmeier 1L

Before a lap could be completed, Shepard and Hindi contacted, sending Hindi into the frontstretch fence.  Minor damage sidelined him.  Jackson took the early lead and pulled away until emitting smoke and coming to a rest on lap three.  Saldana inherited the lead over Kemenah, Dollansky, Haudenschild and Shepard.  Other than a last lap pass of Kemenah by Dollansky, there was no change in order.

Heat four (started): 1. Justin Henderson D1 (1) 2. Brandon Wimmer 7TW (3) 3. Lynton Jeffrey 12 (4) 4. R. Anderson 81 (6) 5. Moore Jr. 55 (5) / 6. Jeremy Campbell 10c (8) 7. Bronson Maeschen 96 (2) 8. Scott Winters R19 (9) 9. Becca Anderson 19 (7) 10. Robert Bell 71 (10)

Henderson led flag to flag in a mostly single-file affair.

Make-up Season Championship Feature (started): 1. Brian Brown 21x (4) 2. Calvin Landis 70 (5) 3. Billy Alley 17G (7) 4. Randy Anderson 81 (11) 5. Kaley Gharst 7w (13) 6. Matt Moro 47 (9) 7. Bronson Maeschen 96 (3) 8. Chris Walraven 56 (6) 9. Mike Moore 69 (12) 10. Clint Garner R19 (14) 11. Lynton Jeffrey 12 (2) 12. Skip Jackson 17x (15) 13. Dusty Zomer 1z (1) 14. Dennis Moore Jr. 55 (18) 15. Tony Shilling 47T (16) 16. Brent Antill 1 (10) 17. Tim St. Arnold 36 (17) 18. Jake Peters 57x (8) DNS - Mark Dobmeier 1L, Trevor Green, Jesse Giannetto

The Make-up feature was run after the heats.  Moore Jr. drove the 55 for Kerry Madsen, who had qualified it.  Jackson and Garner's machines went South, so Jackson drove a back-up Ed Gifford 17 car, and Garner jumped in Scott Winters' machine.  St. Arnold was in Marty Stephenson's 360, and Gharst was in the 7w qualified by St. Arnold.  There will be a quiz later.  Alley led the season standings by 45 coming in, but would have to stay 2 spots behind Brown to keep his lead.  Zomer jumped out to an early lead, while Brown tucked in behind him early.  The track was dry-slick and the distance was 25 laps.  The fastest way was around a cushion that was closing in on the fence.  Alley would find himself running in sixth early.  Brown overtook Zomer on lap 10, before all heck would break loose.  On lap 11, Antill, who was running fifth, contacted Moore Jr. and went end over end eight times down the backstretch.  He was uninjured, but done.  Moore Jr. joined him pitside.  Brown led Zomer, Jeffrey, Landis and Alley back to green flag racing.  Disaster struck the second place running Zomer two laps later, as he jumped the turn one cushion and flipped.  Brown led Landis who had moved by Jeffrey, Alley and Anderson on the restart.  Jackson, Walraven, Garner and Moore were involved in an incident on the restart, with Jackson getting the worst end of the damage and retiring.  Alley made a couple of bids for third on Jeffrey, only to fall short.  Jeffrey's night would end, however, when his left rear blew on lap 18.  Brown led Landis, Alley, Anderson and Gharst back to green for the final seven laps.  That is how they would finish.  Third gave Alley the closest season points win in history, 5 points over Brown.

Dash (started): 1. Hannagan (1) 2. Dollansky (6) 3. Schatz (2) 4. Pittman (8) 5. Shepard (3) 6. Moore Jr. (4) 7. Brown (7) 8. Saldana (9) 9. R. Anderson (5) DNS - Landis

Hannagan took the point early.  A good start by Dollansky saw him propel to third, and then get by Schatz for second.  Brown was putting a slider on Pittman for sixth on lap four when he spun, bringing caution.  Hannagan led from there on out in the six lapper.  Shepard and Moore Jr. traded slide jobs in a battle for fifth late.

B main (started): 1. Droud (3) 2. Carlson (1) 3. Maeschen (2) 4. Hindi (7) / 5. Campbell (10) 6. Rose (8) 7. Moore (9) 8. Moro (12) 9. Gharst (16) 10. B. Anderson (6) 11. Bell (15) 12. Winters (14) 13. Saffell (13) 14. Jones (11) 15. Walraven (4) 16. Johnson (5) DNS - Zomer, Jackson, Shilling, Antill, Peters, Garner, Dobmeier

Droud took the early lead on the cushion in the 12 lapper.  On lap two, Johnson came to a stop and exited with mechanical ills.  Droud led Carlson, Maeschen, B. Anderson and Rose back to green.  One more lap in the books, and Saffell spins.  Rose had gotten by B. Anderson for the fourth and final transfer.  On lap five, Jones stopped and exited.  Now Droud led Carlson, Rose, Maeschen and Hindi back to green.  Carlson made a bid as rubber developed on the low side, but Droud shot back by and found the spot on the track himself to maintain his lead.  Maeschen and Hindi also found the rubber and eliminated Rose from a transfer, as well.

A main (started): 1. Schatz (3) 2. Dollansky (2) 3. Hannagan (1) 4. McCarl (15) 5. Pittman (4) 6. Shepard (5) 7. Brown (7) 8. Saldana (8) 9. Wimmer (12) 10. Bruce (14) 11. Jeffrey (11) 12. Henderson (20) 13. Moore Jr. (6) 14. Martin (16) 15. Kemenah (18) 16. Alley (17) 17. Hindi (24) 18. R. Anderson (9) 19. Droud (23) 20. Maeschen (19) 21. Haudenschild (13) 22. Blonde (21) 23. Landis (10) 24. Carlson (22)

Rubber down racing for 25 laps.  Dollansky beat Hannagan to turn one and protected the low groove.  Meanwhile, McCarl tried to add some excitement by hitting the high side.  It worked for him to the tune of climbing to sixth by lap three.  With Dollansky leading Hannagan and Schatz on lap 16, Schatz said, 'What the Heck?'.  As Dollansky and Hannagan fell in line behind lapped traffic, Schatz gambled on the high side and won, passing both and pulling away for the rest of the contest.  McCarl used a similar move late to loop Shepard and Pittman to grab fourth and hard-charger honors.

360s

Heat one (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Stacey Alexander 00 (2*) 2. Rager Phillips 9 (5*) 3. Adam Mason B29 (3*) 4. Rick Ideus 5B (6*) 5. Jay Jordan 19J (1) 6. Danny Heskin 65 (4) 7. Jay Russell 76 (8) 8. Russ Hall 29 (7)

S. Alexander led the 7 lapper flag to flag.  Phillips fell just short at the line after a nice run.  Mason and Ideus had the best battle on the track, with Mason holding the spot.

Heat two (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Tony Bruce Jr. 18T (1*) 2. Jeff Mitrisin 10 (4*) 3. Randy Martin 14 (6*) 4. Tyler Thompson 48 (8*) 5. Nate Van Haaften 3 (3) 6. Frankie Heimbaugh 04 (5) 7. Mike Trent 71 (7) 8. Mike Houseman Jr. Y5 (2)

Houseman Jr., who had suffered problems in hot laps, came to a rest right after the green fell.  He was done.  Bruce wrestled the early lead from Mitrisin and never looked back.  Mitrisin felt the heat from Martin as the two dueled, but held second.

Heat three (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Jon Corbin 15 (2*) 2. John Schulz 2 (6*) 3. Dustin Selvage 7 (3*) 4. Joe Riedel 15x (1) 5. Brett Mather 54 (8*) 6. Mark Pace 31 (4) 7. Mitch Runge 28 (7) 8. Tyler Thompson 11 (5)

Thompson spun before a lap could be completed and restarted at the rear.  Corbin led the duration.  Selvage put a nice lap together to pass Riedel on the final go-around.  Schulz worked his way up well.

Heat four (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Josh Higday 24 (4*) 2. Alan Zoutte 33 (1*) 3. Josh Schneiderman 49 (3*) 4. Dave Hall 51 (7*) 5. Joe Beaver 53 (5) 6. Marty Stephenson 36 (2) 7. Johnny Anderson 7a (6)

Higday circled the front row and led throughout in probably the stoutest of the four heats.  The best racing came between third and fifth.  The last half of the race, the three diced with Schneiderman grabbing third back from D. Hall on the last lap.

B main (started): 1. Beaver (4) 2. Riedel (1) 3. Pace (7) 4. Trent (10) / 5. Heimbaugh (6) 6. Houseman Jr. (12) 7. Jordan (2) 8. Runge (11) 9. Russell (9) 10. Heskin (5) 11. Thompson 11 (14) 12. Stephenson (8) 13. R. Hall (13) 14. Van Haaften (3) DNS - J. Anderson

Riedel staked an early lead before Beaver shot around him on lap two.  Van Haaften moved up into second, but contact with another car saw him tip over on the white flag lap.  Nice charges by Pace and Trent gave them the final transfers.  Riedel was the only first-time Knoxville competitor of five to make the A.  Other first-timers included Jordan, Runge, Russell and R. Hall.

A main (started): 1. Mitrisin (2) 2. Martin (1) 3. Corbin (4) 4. Bruce (3) 5. Phillips (5) 6. Higday (8) 7. Alexander (6) 8. Schulz (7) 9. D. Hall (11) 10. Thompson 48 (9) 11. Mather (16) 12. Ideus (13) 13. Beaver (17) 14. Schneiderman (15) 15. Pace (19) 16. Selvage (14) 17. Riedel (18) 18. Mason (12) 19. Trent (20) 20. Zoutte (10)

Mitrisin slammed the door on Martin into turn one on the rubber down track and led all 15 laps around the huggy pole.  Zoutte stopped on lap four, bringing the only slowdown.  At the time Phillips had moved into third, ahead of Corbin and Bruce.  A failed attempt at the high side lost him a couple of positions at the checkers.  Mitrisin received $1,500 for his win.
