Heat one (started): 1. Matt Rogerson 29 (4) 2. John Schulz 2 (5) 3. Matt Harms 53H (6) 4. Daniel Avery 18A (7) / 5. Jerrod Hull 12 (2) 6. Tim Moore 10T (3) 7. Bobby Mincer 15 (1)
Hull jumped out to an early lead in the 8 lapper. Mincer slowed on lap three while running third, bringing the caution. He went pitside. Hull led Rogerson, Moore, Schulz and Harms. Before a lap could be completed, Schulz attempted a slider in turn two on Moore. The result saw a crowded Moore hit the backstretch wall hard, ending his night. One more lap was in the books, when the leader came to a stop and went pitside, leaving four cars led by Rogerson to complete the event.
Heat two (started): 1. Bart Andrews 9x (2) 2. Manny Rockhold 99 (4) 3. Kaley Gharst 3* (6) 4. Josh Schneiderman 49 (5) / 5. Bret Tripplett 22 (3) 6. Nick Guernsey 0 (1) DNS – Rager Phillips 14P
Andrews led early with Rockhold in tow. Gharst moved his way through the pack in the non-stop event. With two to go, he began to challenge Rockhold for the second spot and a trip to the dash. A slider worked to perfection for Gharst on the final circuit, but Rockhold, who was filling in for Jimmy Davies, dove back under him with precision to keep the spot. The two were a car length behind the leader in a blanket finish.
Heat three (started): 1. Ryan Jamison 51J (2) 2. Matt Sutton 3 (6) 3. Brian Hetrick 35 (5) 4. Russ Hall 29x (1) / 5. John Hall 7H (4) 6. Korey Weyant 99w (7) 7. Mark Tischer 4m (3)
R. Hall was sent to the rear for jumping on the initial start. Hetrick and Weyant did the same on the next try, moving R. Hall back up to a third starting spot. Jamison led flag to flag and won going away. Sutton moved up nicely on the cushion to place second. Hetrick, who restarted at the rear, captured third from R. Hall on the final go-around. J. Hall fell just short of the final transfer.
Heat four (started): 1. Adam Main 35A (1) 2. Larry Pinegar II 00 (7) 3. Lance Gullo 3G (5) 4. Nick Eastin 22x (6) / 5. Sean Walden 14 (2) 6. Justin Newberry 36 (3) 7. Travis Porter 31P (4)
Grass Valley, California’s Main led the distance. Pinegar was the man on the move, advancing from the tail to second, and a dash starting spot. Eastin and Gullo battled throughout, with Gullo grabbing third on the last lap.
Shake-up Dash (started): 1. Jamison (1) 2. Main (2) 3. Pinegar (5) 4. Schulz (4) 5. Sutton (6) 6. Rockhold (7) 7. Rogerson (3) DNS – Andrews
Jamison led Main the distance of the six lapper. Pinegar gained third from Schulz on the last lap. Jamison drew the worst possible number, a six which put him outside row three of the feature, and put Main and Pinegar on the front row.
B main (started): 1. Hull (1) 2. Weyant (5) 3. Phillips (10) 4. Mincer (7) / 5. Tripplett (2) 6. J. Hall (3) 7. Porter (11) 8. Newberry (8) 9. Tischer (9) 10. Walden (4) 11. Guernsey (6) DNS – Moore
Hull led flag to flag in the 12 lapper. Guernsey and Walden contacted on lap two, sending Walden upside down, and causing severe damage for Guernsey. Both were done, and Phillips narrowly avoided the pair after starting from the tail. Hull led J. Hall, Tripplett, Weyant and Mincer back to green flag racing. Hull continued to lead on the high side, while Weyant used the low side to move into second. Phillips was the man on the move, and after a battle with Mincer, moved into third by a lap 10 Porter spin. Phillips and Weyant exchanged the runner-up spot with two to go, but Weyant held on.
A main (started): 1. Pinegar (2) 2. Sutton (4) 3. Hull (17) 4. Eastin (16) 5. Gharst (10) 6. Schulz (3) 7. Mincer (20) 8. Schneiderman (14) 9. Rogerson (7) 10. Weyant (18) 11. R. Hall (15) 12. Gullo (12) 13. Phillips (19) 14. Harms (9) 15. Andrews (8) 16. Main (1) 17. Rockhold (5) 18. Avery (13) 19. Hetrick (11) 20. Jamison (6)
Main jumped out to the early lead in the 25 lapper on the dry-slick 3/8 mile oval. When a car slowed and got sideways in front of him, Hetrick checked up sideways and was struck by Jamison with both tipping over. Neither was injured, but they were done. Gharst was also collected in the melee and restarted at the tail. Main led Pinegar, Sutton, Schulz and Rogerson back to green flag racing. The 17 year old Main began putting distance between himself and the rest of the pack. Gullo spun on lap 11, slowing down the event. Main had a lapped car between himself and Pinegar, who was followed by Sutton, Schulz and a charging Eastin and Hull. The next ten laps saw Main first pull away and then smack the turn four cushion hard on almost every lap. Pinegar capitalized on what seemed to be a shaky leader. On lap 21, Pinegar moved under Main, who had gone into turn four too hot, hit the cushion hard and flipped. He was unhurt. Pinegar assumed the lead ahead of Sutton, Hull, and the battling trio of Eastin, Schulz and Schneiderman. The top three remained intact the final five laps, with Eastin moving into fourth and Gharst making a late charge after restarting at the rear for fifth. Hull was the hard-charger, moving forward 14 spots. The win was Pinegar’s first of 2007, and came with Larry Weeks’ number and the #13F car.
