Heat one (started): 1. Josh Higday 24 (1) 2. Kaley Gharst 41x (2) 3. Ryan Jamison 51J (3) 4. Rusty Potter 3P (6) 5. Josh Schneiderman 49 (7) 6. Jeff Wingate 8 (4) 7. Kyle Bellm 14K (5) 8. Nick Eastin 22x (8)
Eastin got turned over in the first turn when the green fell. Higday took off in the 8-lapper and led the mostly single-file affair.
Heat two (started): 1. Curtis Evans 1P (2) 2. Randy Martin 14 (1) 3. Josh Fisher 86 (4) 4. John Schulz 2 (8) 5. Tony Crank 9c (3) 6. Jeff Mitrisin 10 (7) 7. Curtis Boyer 72 (5) 8. Austin Alumbaugh 33A (6)
Evans led flag to flag. With each position counting towards a starting spot in the A, Schulz did well for himself by moving forward four spots. Alumbaugh fell out on lap two.
Heat three (started): 1. Danny Lasoski 33 (2) 2. Brian Brown 21 (1) 3. Terry McCarl 1m (5) 4. Jason Johnson 41 (6) 5. Jonathan Cornell 28 (7) 6. Andrew Korte 28K (3) 7. Steven Cross 19s (4)
Lasoski led the duration in the stoutest heat race of the night by far. Once McCarl got to third, he slowly reeled in Brown, but ran out of time.
A main (started): 1. Gharst (1) 2. J. Johnson (12) 3. McCarl (9) 4. Higday (6) 5. Brown (3) 6. Cornell (15) 7. Fisher (8) 8. Martin (4) 9. Schneiderman (13) 10. Schulz (11) 11. Lasoski (2) 12. Jamison (7) 13. Boyer (20) 14. Potter (10) 15. Crank (14) 16. Mitrisin (17) 17. Alumbaugh (23) 18. Bellm (19) 19. Eastin (22) 20. Cross (21) 21. Korte (18) 22. Wingate (16) 23. Evans (5)
Gharst got the early jump in the 20-lapper, but Lasoski overtook him on the second go-around. J. Johnson was in the top five in the first few laps, mixing it up with Higday, Brown and McCarl. Lasoski and Gharst put some distance between themselves and the third place car of Higday. On lap eleven, in heavy lapped traffic, Gharst rode the cushion around Lasoski and started putting lapped cars between himself and his followers. J. Johnson quickly moved into third, and McCarl worked by Brown and Higday later as well to complete nice charges. Lasoski retired on the white flag lap after blowing the motor. Gharst held on to the win at Lee County, where he won three times with the Sprint Invaders in 2007, and was quick to thank his mechanic for the night, Scott Bonar. J. Johnson was the hard-charger, while Cornell also deserves a nod for a good run from 15th to 6th as the highest finishing WOW member.
