TJ Michael had issues in hot laps and time trials and failed to get a time in. Ryan Irwin had his issues as well, but got a lap in at the end of time trials.
Eleven cars were under Bill Balog’s 2015 track record of 11.935 seconds, including Bill himself. Young
Brandon Spithaler came out 22nd in the order and holds the new standard for the 1/3-mile oval at 11.706 seconds, besting Balog’s previous mark of 11.935 seconds from the NSL show two years ago. Others under the previous mark were Ian Madsen (6th car out), Kerry Madsen (15th), Tony Stewart (38th), Spencer Bayston (9th), Rico Abreu (10th), Ryan Smith (18th), Chad Kemenah (24th), Caleb Armstrong (34th), Max Stambaugh (3rd) and Balog (12th).
