After a forgettable event at Lincoln Speedway a week ago Friday, Bailey was set for Jacksonville and Burlington last weekend.  “The ride home from Lincoln wasn’t a good one,” she admits.  “It turned out we had a couple of issues with the car from that race that came up this past weekend and we didn’t know about.”

She would start off in Jacksonville Friday.  “The track was off from all the rain,” says Bailey.  “It had been rained on and dried out, rained on a dried out, and it was just super dry when we got out there.  Also, the POWRi midgets and micros were there, so it was just a different track.  We ended up fifth.”

Starting at the back of the feature, Bailey would struggle with a brake issue.  “We ended up eleventh,” she says.  “We missed the setup for that to.  We were the last feature of the night and it was just slick from the bottom to the wall.  I was having brake issues that we ended up fixing Saturday morning.”

It turns out that the brakes were just one issue.  “We fixed a couple parts that we had broken at Lincoln that we hadn’t known about,” says Bailey.  “The ram in the wing slider was bent, so that was affecting our wing angle.  Also, I had wondered why it felt like I hadn’t had any brakes at Jacksonville.  It turned out the brake rotor was bent.  When it came around, it would push the calipers apart.  You’d have to pump it up to get brakes again.  That doesn’t work too well.”

Things went much better at 34 Raceway, but the track was again tricky for Bailey.  “At Burlington, we started fourth in our heat and ended up running third,” she says.  “We misjudged the track a little for the feature.  It ended up blowing off more than we thought that it would.  There was pretty much just one groove and we just missed the setup again.  We ended up eleventh.”
