(Bill W) May 15, 2017 – Kerry Madsen and Brian Brown dominated the weekend in Midwest Thunder Sprint Cars presented by www.OpenWheel101.com action. Kerry won the Jackson Motorplex Spring Nationals on Friday night. Brown drove to his second win at the Knoxville Raceway this season on Saturday night. Brown’s 35th career win at Knoxville tied him for seventh on the all-time list with Randy Smith.
While Brown finished eleventh in Jackson, Madsen made the race in the point standings tight as he came home fourth at Knoxville. Just two points separate Madsen from Brown, who also is the first repeat winner in the Midwest Thunder Sprint Cars. Second and fourth place runs this weekend saw Ian Madsen jump to third in the standings, ahead of Lynton Jeffrey and Austin McCarl.
Two more point eligible events await this weekend. Following another exciting night Saturday at Knoxville, the All Star Circuit of Champions will battle with the IRA at the famous Angell Park Speedway bullring in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin on Sunday night!
