35 cars
Brad Sweet (17th car out to time) set quick time at 13.235 seconds around the high-banked 4/10-mile oval. Jac Haudenschild (32nd car out) was second quick, followed by Dale Blaney (20th), Danny Holtgraver (25th), Cap Henry (23rd), Tim Shaffer (22nd), Dave Blaney (31st), Jim Nier (7th), Logan Schuchart (26th) and Randy Hannagan (29th)
Heat one (started): 1. Danny Smith 4 (1) 2. Sweet 49 (6) 3. Henry 54 (5) 4. Paige Polyak 27P (2) 5. Gary Taylor 40T (3) / 6. Adam Wilt 15 (8) 7. Schuchart 1s (4) 8. Duane Zablocki 9z (7) 9. Jordan Harble 5 (9)
Heats were eight laps in distance and took the top five to the feature. Smith led the distance out front, while Sweet did well to slide his way to the front. The best battle on the way was with Polyak, who ducked one of his sliders and drove back by him at one point. It was a big slider night as usual at the Big E.
Heat two (started): 1. Travis Philo 5T (1) 2. Shaffer 83 (5) 3. Hannagan 11N (4) 4. Rob Chaney 9x (3) 5. J. Haudenschild 59 (6) / 6. Cole Duncan 7K (2) 7. Stuart Williams 46 (7) 8. Dallas Hewitt 2m (8) 9. Bruce White 96au (9)
Philo fought off Hannagan, who was making his first start in Ed Neumeister's sprinter on the first lap and drove away from the field. Shaffer shot by Hannagan for second. J. Haudenschild grabbed the final transfer on lap two when he shot by Duncan.
Heat three (started): 1. Caleb Helms 40 (2) 2. Brandon Wimmer 9w (4) 3. Sheldon Haudenschild 33m (3) 4. Dave Blaney 10 (5) 5. DJ Foos 53 (1) / 6. Dale Blaney 2 (6) 7. Stuart Brubaker 35 (8) 8. Trey Gustin 80 (7) 9. Robin Dawkins T29 (9)
Helms shot out to the early lead over Dale Blaney and Wimmer. Dale Blaney blew his left rear tire while running second on lap three. He would charge back to sixth and slide by Foos in three and four. Foos came back under him to hold the spot in a great finish.
Heat four (started): 1. Greg Wilson w20 (2) 2. Holtgraver 45 (6) 3. Bryan Sebetto 24H (4) 4. Dean Jacobs 97 (3) 5. Justin Henderson 0 (1) / 6. Jacob Allen 1a (8) 7. Mitchell Harble 15H (7) 8. Nier 00 (5)
Wilson led flag to flag. Nier exited after tagging the wall on lap four. Holtgraver shot to second by the completion of lap one and he held that spot down.
Dash (started): 1. Shaffer (3) 2. Sweet (6) 3. Dave Blaney (5) 4. J. Haudenschild (4) 5. Holtgraver (1) 6. Henry (2)
Shaffer led early in front of Holtgraver and J. Haudenschild. Sweet dove under Haud and Holtgraver into second on the next go-around. Dave Blaney slid by Haud with two laps to go for fourth, then slid Holtgraver for third in an exciting six lap Dash that determined the starting order for the top three rows of the feature.
B main (started): 1. Dale Blaney (1) 2. Nier (2) 3. Schuchart (3) 4. Hewitt (8) / 5. Duncan (4) 6. Wilt (9) 7. M. Harble (8) 8. Zablocki (5) 9. Allen (12) 10. Gustin (7) 11. Williams (6) 12. J. Harble (13) 13. Brubaker (11) 14. White (14) DNS – Dawkins
Dale Blaney led the 12-lap distance. Hewitt got a great jump before the start line, moving up to fifth right away. On lap four, Schuchart worked under Duncan for third. Duncan and Hewitt battled back and forth for the final transfer, before the latter grabbed it for good on lap seven. On the white flag lap, contact from another car send Brubaker flipping on the frontstretch. It was the only flip of the night, and he was uninjured. Hewitt held Duncan off despite heavy pressure.
A main (started): 1. J. Haudenschild (4) 2. Shaffer (1) 3. Sweet (2) 4. Dale Blaney (11) 5. Hannagan (7) 6. Dave Blaney (3) 7. Holtgraver (5) 8. Chaney (14) 9. Wilson (19) 10. Taylor (10) 11. Helms (18) 12. Polyak (17) 13. Jacobs (16) 14. Wimmer (8) 15. Foos (22) 16. Philo (21) 17. Hewitt (24) 18. Smith (20) 19. Sebetto (9) 20. Henry (6) 21. Henderson (23) 22. S. Haudenschild (15) 23. Schuchart (13) 24. Nier (12)
Shaffer led Haud and Dave Blaney early on in the 30-lapper. At the five lap mark, Sweet was fourth and Holtgraver was fifth. Once in heavy lapped traffic, Haud had his shot and slid in front of Shaffer to lead lap seven. Dave Blaney challenged Shaffer hard for second. The cushion was on the wall and Dave banged it hard at that point. S. Haudenschild came to a stop on lap eleven. Haud led Shaffer, Sweet, Dave Blaney and Hannagan back to green. Wimmer restarted sixth and made it three-wide with Hannagan and Dave for fourth. He would settle into fifth, but suffered a flat right rear, presumably from banging the wall on lap 17. The restart saw Haud leading Shaffer, Sweet, Hannagan and Dale Blaney, up from 11th. He would take fourth and then third at that point. Sweet would get him back for the spot on lap 24. Hannagan held off Dave Blaney in a late bid for fifth. The night required riding the wall and plenty of wildness. The "Wild Child" provided the most, registering his 24th career AS win.
