Disaster stuck before a lap could be completed when Kaeding got four wheels above the cushion in turn one, biked and had the car turn sideways. He accelerated into Wilson and both flipped and were done for the night. Neither was injured. Pittman tumbled down the backstretch after apparent contact with another car in a separate incident. Schatz took the early lead while I. Madsen jumped up to third by lap two. After a good battle, Swindell found his way to the front with two to go.

Pittman was forced to go with a backup car after his heat flip and started the B and A at the tail. With one lap in the books, Heskin climbed the frontstretch wall and flipped several times. He was uninjured. Rose was the early leader and chose the inside on the restart. McFadden shot the cushion once the green fell to take the lead for good. Pittman got by Rose for second with two to go.

A main (started): 1. Swindell (4) 2. Saldana (2) 3. S. Kinser (14) 4. Pittman (24) 5. McMahan (8) 6. Balog (3) 7. Darrah (15) 8. Solwold (11) 9. Kemenah (1) 10. Sides (12) 11. McFadden (20) 12. K. Spitz (21) 24. Gravel (19)

Saldana took the early lead in the 35-lapper over Swindell and Kemenah. Dollansky spun with five laps in the books while running sixth. The restart saw Saldana take the top on the double-file restart and get passed by Swindell. The move was negated when the start was called back for an I. Madsen jump. Abreu smacked a competitor and the wall with his right rear and flattened it. He changed it and rejoined at the tail. This time, Saldana took the bottom and maintained his lead. On the ninth lap, Schatz passed Kemenah for third. With 13 laps in, Gravel broke his front end and spun. Saldana chose the inside on the restart and maintained his lead over Swindell, Schatz, Kemenah and McMahan. Darrah dove with all four tires in the grass in the infield and slid about four cars on the restart in turns one and two, causing a few drivers to slam the brakes to avoid him. With 19 laps in the books, Schatz got by Swindell for second, and tried to reel in Saldana. A lap 24 melee would halt his progress. RJ Johnson got upside down in an incident that also involved McFadden, K. Kinser and I. Madsen. Schatz couldn't avoid RJ and went to the work area for repairs. Dollansky spun again on the restart. This time, after contact from another car. On the 28th lap, Schatz hooked an infield tire in turn four and flipped. The open red flag that followed provided his crew enough time for repairs sans nose wing. Saldana chose the inside for the fourth time, but this time, Swindell shot around him on the cushion and pulled away for his seventh career win at Cedar Lake. S. Kinser had a good charge to third from 14th. Pittman finished up fourth from the tail.
