The event was held for the first eight non-qualifiers for the feature.  Henderson led the 8-lapper early on before Lusk flipped hard into the wall with two laps in the books.  Henderson exited under the red with motor issues, handing the lead to Cox.  Heser worked the low side for the lead once the race went green and went on to the $400 win.

A main (started): 1. Brown (1) 2. Bruce (2) 3. Loyet (4) 4. Forler (18) 5. Lasoski (17) 6. Dover (13) 7. Herrera (8) 8. Johnson (6) 9. Wood (21) 10. Morgan (11) 11. Zomer (10) 12. Drueke (19) 24. Hahn (24)

Hahn had a fuel leak and started at the tail.  Brown led Bruce and Swindell early in the 30-lapper.  With rain threatening, Winters flipped with three laps in the books.  Drueke, Wolfgang and Dobmeier were also involved and retired.  Brown led Bruce, Swindell, Loyet and Herrera back to green flag racing.  Bergman would stop on the backstretch with nine laps in the books.  Johnson had gotten by Herrera and into the top five at that point.  When the green fell again, Loyet shot by Swindell into third.  With twelve laps down, Swindell and Johnson would make contact, sending Swindell sideways and upside down.  He was unhurt, but finished.  After aan open red flag period, Brown led Bruce, Loyet, Johnson, Herrera and a charging Lasoski.  The top five remained unchanged until Bakker lost a right rear tire on lap 21.  The last nine laps went non-stop, and Brown worked the top side all the way home to the win.  Forler made late moves using the low side of the track to move up to fourth as the hard-charger.  Lasoski cruised by Johnson to complete the top five.  Brown’s win followed his victory in the Jackson Spring Nationals here and was worth $4,000.
