Tyler Courtney set quick time in the second heat group, and quick time overall on the half-mile at 16.371 seconds. Gio Scelzi was quickest in the first group, Logan Wagner in the third, Justin Peck in the fourth and Mike Wagner in the fifth. Tim Buckwalter struggled with engine issues and didn’t get a time in. Devin Brenneman made heavy contact with the wall on his second lap and was done for the night.
Heat one (started): 1. Bill Balog 17B (1) 2. Justin Whittal 67 (2) 3. Scelzi 18 (4) 4. Ayrton Gennetten 3 (3) / 5. AJ Flick 2 (5) 6. Chris Windom 19 (6) 7. Austin Bishop 11A (7) 8. Scotty Thiel 73 (8) 9. Troy Fraker 12w (9) DNS – Tim Buckwalter 7
8-lap heats took the top four to the feature. Heat winners and the fastest qualifier who finished in the top four qualified for the Dash. Balog led the distance and looked good. Things were pretty single-file up front. Flick and Windom had the best racing in the battle for fifth.
Heat two (started): 1. Cory Eliason 11 (1) 2. Anthony Macri 39M (2) 3. Brent Marks 19M (3) 4. Lance Dewease 69K (6) / 5. Courtney 7BC (4) 6. Dylan Cisney 5 (5) 7. Landon Myers 1m (9) 8. Derek Hauck 33 (7) 9. Kyle Moody 99 (8) DNS – Tyler Walton 14T
This was the stoutest group of the night by far, and the most entertaining heat. Eliason and Macri led the field the distance, but there was a lot of action behind them. Cisney was battling Marks for the final transfer on lap three when he got sideways into the frontstretch wall and spun. Amazingly, he restarted at the tail. Marks jumped up to third on the restart, but Dewease was right there in the mix for a transfer as well. Courtney was third at one point, with Marks getting passed by Dewease for the final transfer. Marks would rebound to third, while a green, white, checker finish for a caution brought out for Moody gave Dewease a shot. He just stole the final transfer from Courtney coming out on the low side of turn four.
Heat three (started): 1. Lucas Wolfe 5w (2) 2. Logan Wagner 1 (4) 3. Devon Borden 23 (1) 4. Rico Abreu 24 (3) / 5. Zeb Wise 26 (7) 6. Ryan Taylor 77 (6) 7. Hunter Schuerenberg 55 (5) 8. Tyler Reeser 17 (10) 9. Mark Smith M1 (8) 10. Kasey Kahne 9 (9)
Wolfe led wire to wire in a mostly single-file affair.
Heat four (started): 1. Danny Dietrich 48 (1) 2. Freddie Rahmer 8 (2) 3. Sye Lynch 42 (3) 4. Justin Peck 13 (4) / 5. Kyle Reinhardt 91 (6) 6. Chase Dietz 39 (9) 7. Cap Henry 4 (8) 8. Zach Hampton 35 (7) 9. Tyler Bear 98 (5) 10. Riley Emig 33R (10)
Dietrich led flag to flag.
Heat five (started): 1. Jeff Halligan 45 (1) 2. Brian Brown 21 (2) 3. Mike Wagner 55W (4) 4. Gerard McIntyre Jr. 33m (6) / 5. Mike Walter 33w (3) 6. TJ Stutts 11T (5) 7. Ryan Smith 6 (7) 8. Blane Heimbach 12 (8) DNS – Devin Brenneman 36D
Halligan led the distance. McIntyre snatched the last transfer from Walter with a move on the low side of turn four with two to go.
C main (started): 1. Hampton (2) 2. Reeser (4) / 3. Hauck (1) 4. Thiel (3) 5. Heimbach 12 (5) 6. Kahne (8) 7. Emig (9) 8. Bear (6) 9. Buckwalter (10) 10. Fraker (7) DNS – Smith, Moody, Brenneman, Walton
The 10-lapper took two to the B. Hampton led Hauck, Reeser and Thiel early. Reeser would take the final transfer from Hauck on lap three.
Dash (started): 1. Balog (1) 2. Macri (3) 3. Peck (4) 4. Dietrich (7) 5. Scelzi (2) 6. M. Wagner (9) 7. Halligan (6) 8. L. Wagner (5) 9. Wolfe (8) 10. Eliason (10)
The 6-lapper set the first five rows of the feature event. Balog led the distance, continuing his strong night. Dietrich cruised by Scelzi on the backstretch to gain fourth on lap two. Macri took second from Peck on lap four with slider in turn four.
B main (started): 1. Courtney (1) 2. Cisney (2) 3. Walter (3) 4. Reinhardt (6) / 5. Wise (5) 6. Windom (7) 7. Stutts (8) 8. Taylor (9) 9. Dietz (10) 10. Myers (15) 11. Bishop (12) 12. Smith (13) 13. Reeser (17) 14. Hampton (16) 15. Henry (14) 16. Flick (4) 17. Schuerenberg (11)
The 12-lapper took four to the feature. Cisney led Courtney, Walter and Flick early on. Schuerenberg spun a lap in setting up a restart that saw Flick capture third from Walter with a slider in one. Courtney slid Cisney for the lead with two to go before Flick made heavy contact with the wall causing suspension damage and surrendering his transfer spot to Reinhardt.
A main (started): 1. Macri (2) 2. Dietrich (4) 3. L. Wagner (7) 4. Peck (3) 5. M. Wagner (6) 6. Whittal (10) 7. Scelzi (5) 8. Abreu (18) 9. Dewease (17) 10. Marks (13) 11. Balog (1) 12. Lynch (15) 24. Reinhardt (23) 25. Henry (24, prov.) 26. Schuerenberg (26, prov.) 27. 77, Halligan (27)
The 30-lapper paid $8,000 to win. Halligan had issues in the Dash and went to the 77 car for the feature, started at the tail and pulled off. Balog led Macri, Dietrich and Peck early. Dietrich passed Macri for second on lap two, but the Concrete Kid came back with a slider in three on lap five and retook the spot. Macri reeled in Balog and got him for the lead on the low side of turn two on lap eight. Dietrich would follow him into second on lap ten. On lap eleven, Peck got by Balog for third, and on the next lap M. Wagner did the same to take over fourth. Macri was into lapped traffic by lap 14. L. Wagner was a late charger, taking fourth from his Dad on lap 19, and third from Peck with a move on the bottom of turn two on lap 22. Macri would never seriously be challenged in getting the win. Abreu was the hard-charger.
