Saturday saw a large crowd of fans show up for Junior Fan Club Night, presented by Moms Popcorn and Avid Realty at Eagle Raceway. A beautiful but breezy day provided great racing with 3 and sometimes 4-wide racing during the heats, with the track being in great shape for the features.
There were no serious incidents in the preliminary action.
Shayle Bade was in the lead in her 03 after the first circuit of the Twin Rivers IMCA Racesaver finale with Mike Boston’s 51 second, Nate Weiler’s 4W third and Alex Davenport in the 25A fourth. Brandon Horton passed Davenport the next lap to put the 1B into fourth. Stu Snyder took his #5 past Horton for fourth the following circuit before taking third the next time around. Snyder continued his advance 2 laps later when he moved to second and eventually took over the lead after another 2 circuits. Lap 12 saw Boston pass Bade for second. Trevor Grossenbacher cracked the top 4 the following lap in his 35 and moved to third after another circuit. Clint Benson’s 100 came to a halt on the back stretch with 8 to go. A final caution came with 3 circuits left as Gunnar Pike’s 25 came to a halt in turn 4. Snyder took the checkers in first, Boston second, Grossenbacher third and Bade rounded out the top 4.
Just after the final checkers flew the rain began. Due to the rain and the mass exodus from the pits that it caused no interviews with the winners were obtained.
Next weekend is the Armed Forces Salute, presented by Empire Fence and Twin Rivers. Adult admission is $15, Youths 6-12 are only $5 and children 5 and under receive free admission. The Twin Rivers Boot Camp Challenge will be held at intermission.
All 5 classes will be in competition including the Twin Rivers Sprint Cars, Nebraska Lottery Modifieds, Avid Realty SportMods, Valentino’s Hobby Stocks & A1 Iron Stock Cars.
Front gates open at 5:15 with adult admission being $15.
Pit gates open at 3:30 with pit passes costing $30. Hot laps begin at 5:30.
