Saturday evening was Party In The USA presented by Duros Dent Works, The Lincoln Stars and ATV Motorsports. 140 teams showed up to compete under mid-90s temperatures on a beautifully prepared track before a large crowd.
There were no significant incidents in the preliminary features.
The final race of the evening was for the Duros Dent Works Racesaver IMCA Sprints. The first circuit saw Tim Hilfiker lead in the 20 with Doug Lovegrove’s 55, the 12K of Troy Sanford and Nate Weiler in the 4w in hot pursuit. Lovegrove passed Hilfiker on lap 2 but Mike Boston went flipping in turns 3 & 4 with the 51 ending up on its lid and the top wing next to the fence. Boston was not seriously injured. Weiler moved up to third on the restart with Brandon Horton putting the 1B into fourth the next time around. Lovegrove once again passed Hilfiker on lap 4. Weiler advanced to second on lap 7. Shayle Helget put the 03 into fourth the next time around and advanced to third with 9 to go. The chase was on to the checkers but the top 4 remained unchanged. Lovegrove, Weiler, Helget and Hilfiker were the top 4.
Next weekend Great Clips and Colby Ridge present the Junior Fan Club Salute. Kids 12 and under receive free front gate admission. Adults are just $12. Front gates open at 5:00 with hot laps at 5:30 and racing at 6:30. All 5 classes will be competing including the Duros Dent Works Sprint Cars, Nebraska Lottery Modifieds, Coors Light SportMods, Valentino’s Hobby Stocks & ATV Motor Sports Sport Compacts.
Pit gates open at 3:30 with pit passes costing $30.
