Kyle Larson (1st car out to time) set quick time on the 3/8-mile oval at 13.011 seconds. Josh Baughman (8th car out) was second quick, followed by Tucker Klaasmeyer (12th), Dominic Scelzi (4th), Hunter Schuerenberg (3rd), Aaron Reutzel (10th), Cory Eliason (17th), Josh Schneiderman (2nd), Kerry Madsen (22nd) and Cale Thomas (27th).
Heat one (started): 1. Eliason 26 (2) 2. Thomas 70 (1) 3. D. Scelzi 41s (3) 4. Larson 57 (4) 5. Skylar Gee 99 (5) 6. Shane Stewart 71 (6) / 7. Tyler Courtney 7BC (7) 8. Greg Wilson w20 (8) 9. Chris Martin 44 (9)
A heavy, fast track didn’t lend to much passing in the 8-lap heats. The top six qualified for the feature and the winner of the heat and the fastest qualifier not winning the heat made the Dash.
Heat two (started): 1. Austin McCarl 17A (1) 2. Schneiderman 49 (2) 3. Baughman 17 (4) 4. Schuerenberg 55 (3) 5. Paul McMahan 13 (6) 6. Brian Brown 21 (8) / 7. Trey Starks 44s (7) 8. Paul Nienhiser 9x (9) 9. Zeb Wise 11 (5)
Contact between Brown and Wise in turn one sent Wise sideways to a stop. He was done for the heat. A. McCarl led the distance, while Brown gained the final transfer from Nienhiser on lap two.
Heat three (started): 1. Gio Scelzi 18 (1) 2. Madsen 2m (2) 3. Kasey Kahne 9 (5) 4. Reutzel 87 (3) 5. Klaasmeyer 27 (4) 6. Sam Hafertepe Jr. 15H (7) / 7. Gerard McIntyre Jr. 07 (8) 8. Zach Hampton 35 (6) 9. Austin Archdale 2A (9)
Gio led the distance, salvaging a tough qualifying effort to earn a dash spot.
Dash (started): 1. Eliason (2) 2. A. McCarl (1) 3. Klaasmeyer (3) 4. Larson (5) 5. Baughman (4) 6. Schuerenberg (6) 7. D. Scelzi (8) 8. G. Scelzi (7)
Eliason led the distance from outside row one in the 6-lapper. Larson picked up a big spot at the halfway point, grabbing fourth and a second row starting spot from Baughman.
A main (started): 1. Larson (4) 2. Eliason (1) 3. Klaasmeyer (3) 4. A. McCarl (2) 5. G. Scelzi (8) 6. Schneiderman (9) 7. Madsen (10) 8. D. Scelzi (7) 9. Kahne (12) 10. Reutzel (13) 11. Schuerenberg (6) 12. Hafertepe (17) 13. McMahan (15) 14. Gee (14) 15. Stewart (16) 16. Baughman (5) 17. Co. urtney (22) 18. Hampton (19) 19. Martin (24) 20. Wise (21) 21. Brown (18) 22. Wilson (23) 23. Starks (20) 24. Thomas (11)
Eliason led the 30-lapper early over McCarl, Larson, Klaasmeyer and Schuerenberg. Starks flipped in turn three on lap three. He was ok. Two laps after the restart, G. Scelzi cracked the top five, getting by Schuerenberg. Wise was all but sideways, and slowed six laps in, bringing another yellow. It would be the last. Larson took second from McCarl on the restart. Eliason entered lapped traffic on the 12th lap, and Larson shot to the cushion to get around the leader on lap 13. Klaasmeyer shot by McCarl for third on lap 18, and that’s how the podium would finish. The win was worth $6,000 for Larson and his sixth straight All Stars win. Schneiderman challenged late for a bid at the top five. Hafertepe was the hard-charger.
