8-lap heats saw the top 30 in passing points move on to qualifiers, with everyone else headed for the B. Track conditions were the polar opposite of Saturday. Dust flew in hot laps. Bogucki led this one early over Doughty and Hafertepe. Sam quickly disposed of Doughty for second and then used the high side to pass Bogucki for the lead on lap three. Bales worked by Doughty for third at the halfway point. Gennetten gained fourth with two to go, while Hahn grabbed fifth on the last lap.

Nienhiser worked by the front row on the first lap and led the distance over Paulus and Hill. Behind the lead trio, the remainder of the field battled tooth and nail without much change from the starting lineup in the end.

Covington led the distance, followed by Blank and Cornell. Carrick spun two laps in. Mallett was the mover in this one from the back row, taking fourth on the restart for Carrick.

Bruce led Crawley and Sutherland early. Bellm shot from the tail to fourth on lap one. He then took third from Sutherland, but it was negated by a Howard spin. He reclaimed the spot after the restart, and then got by Crawley after a good battle for second, claiming the second highest point total in the heats next to Hafertepe.

Price led the distance. Bowman ran second until coming for the white flag, when Morgan passed him after a good battle. E. Martin followed him into third.

Crockett hit the cushion to circle the front row and pull away to a convincing win. Gharst was second two laps in when he was punted by O’Neal, who slammed into the back of him in one and two and spun him, changing the night for both. Alumbaugh spun in the same incident.

Bogucki led the distance in the 8-lapper and pulled away in doing so. Hill was second early. Covington and Hafertepe traded third twice in the first three laps. Carney was the mover, coming from ninth to grab fifth.

Blank led Cornell and Mallett early. Bellm was on the move again, grabbing third from Mallett on lap two with E. Martin in tow. Contact with Nienhiser saw Mallett wpin with three laps down. Blank led Cornell, Bellm, E. Martin and Gennetten back to green. Gennetten used the restart to gain fourth. He stalked Bellm for third and grabbed it on the white flag lap. White moved from eighth to fifth, putting herself on the pole of the B.

Crawley led wire to wire, but held on ahead of a charging Crockett, who took third from Paulus on lap three and second from Bales on lap six. Hahn moved up nicely from seventh to fourth.

White led the 12-lapper early over Paulus, Mallett and Bruce. Mallett worked the middle of the track to get by Paulus for second on lap three. After a good battle with White, he did the same to take the lead on lap eight. Paulus shot under White for second with two to go.

E. Martin led Price, Goodno and Sutherland early. R. Martin worked up to fifth by lap two, but faded late. Goodno, just sixteen years old and from Knoxville, used the low side to get by Paulus for second on lap three.

The non-stop 40-lapper was all Hafertepe, who led from the outset, and dominated in every way. He would lap up to fifth place at the checkers and score $5,000 for the win. He entered lapped traffic by lap six, as the battle heated for second. Crockett was running there, but Bogucki got around him on lap nine. The next circuit, there were seven lapped cars between Hafertepe and the Aussie. Crockett managed to wrestle back the runner-up spot in traffic, white Cornell took fourth from Crawley on lap 16. Covington followed him into fifth at the time. By lap 30, Hafertepe had roared by the seventh through 25th runners, and he was able to get by the sixth runner Gennetten before the checkers. Carney was the hard-charger, moving up from 16th to take fourth coming for the white flag.
