Joey Saldana (20th car out to time) set quick time at 14.277 seconds on the 2/5-mile oval. Jason Sides (2nd car out) was second quick, followed by Kerry Madsen (22nd), Danny Lasoski (4th), Shane Stewart (14th), Paul McMahan (24th), Daryn Pittman (3rd), Kraig Kinser (25th), Brad Sweet (26th) and Logan Schuchart (1st). Donny Schatz lost a fuel pump and came out at the end to time. His time was good enough for 8th quick, but was scored 13th for missing his spot. Terry McCarl underwent an engine change after hot laps and failed to get a time in.

Schuchart was sent back a row for jumping the original start. Lasoski inherited the pole and took off to lead all eight laps in a mostly single-file heat race.

I Madsen led flag to flag as the bottom was the preferred line. Gravel and Brahmer exchanged the final transfer spot twice before Gravel took over late.

Brown and Sweet traded the lead on lap one, with Brown winning out for a Dash spot. McFadden surged from row four to a transfer.

Lasoski led out of the gate, while Brown passed four cars in turn one to gain two rows in starting position for the feature.

Brahmer led the distance, going away int eh 12-lapper. By lap three, McCarl was in third from the tail.

McFadden climbed the right rear of Bunton in turn one and flipped wildly as the 30-lapper went green. Both drivers were done, but uninjured. Once the race went green again, K. Madsen led Lasoski and I. Madsen. Martin spun with five laps in, bringing out the yellow. I. Madsen suffered a flat right rear, surrendering third and restarting at the tail. K. Madsen elected the outside line on the double-file restart, and Lasoski surged to the lead from the inside. Brown hit the high side of turn one to go from fifth to second. Sides, who ran strong all night, worked under Brown on lap eight, before Hendrickson spun with nine laps recorded. Lasoski chose the inside line, and on the restart, Brown pressured him immediately, passing him briefly. Five more laps were gone when Brahmer came to a stop on the backstretch. Lasoski led Brown, Sides, Stewart and McMahan back to green. I. Madsen got into McCarl on the restart flattening McCarl’s left rear tire. McCarl would restart at the tail and surrender his spot challenging for a top ten after starting 22nd. Schatz restarted sixth and was on the move. By lap 25, he was by Sides for third, and a lap later, overtook Brown for second. Forler spun with 26 laps in the books, erasing a three second lead for Lasoski. An open red fuel stop was called for setting up a four lap Dash for $10,000. McMahan surrendered 11th when he had to return under caution for a missing fuel cap. Lasoski and Schatz proceeded to go at it when the green fell again. Schatz edged by to lead laps 28 and 29. Lasoski battled back on the final lap, gaining an advantage in turn two. He was able to hold off Schatz for his 90th career World of Outlaws win and score one for the NSL at the same time. Schatz finished second as the hard-charger, while Sides got by Brown late for third in another great race.
