Tim Shaffer (4th car out to time) set the standard in time trials with a lap clocking 10.412 seconds, approximately .3 of a second off Stevie Smith’s two year old track record.  Paul McMahan (6th car out) was second quick, followed by Brooke Tatnell (15th), Daryn Pittman (12th), Craig Dollansky (9th), Erin Crocker (2nd), Jonathan Allard (20th), Donny Schatz (13th), Danny Lasoski (10th) and Jason Sides (31st).  Bryan Matthews suffered mechanical ills in hot laps and failed to get a time in.  Jason Hunt suffered motor problems and sputtered off.  He would scratch for the night.

Heat one (started): 1. Steve Kinser 11 (2) 2. Tyler Walker 5 (3) 3. Schatz 15 (5) 4. Shaffer 83 (4) 5. Tom Busch 36 (7) / 6. Toni Lutar 4x (6) 7. Jay Landolt 21s (8) 8. Chad Souders 12s (9) 9. Brian Carlson 18 (1) DNS – Lasoski 20, Hunt 19

Lasoski suffered throttle linkage problems in staging and was unable to start.  Carlson took a brief lead before S. Kinser took the point for good.  Walker grabbed second on the final circuit after dueling on a racy track with Schatz and Shaffer.  The three worked high and low exchanging slide jobs and positions.  Busch performed a 360 spin without losing his transfer spot with two laps to go.

Heat two (started): 1. Sides 7s (4) 2. Kraig Kinser 11K (1) 3. Brian Paulus 28 (2) 4. Allard 35 (5) 5. Jesse Hockett 75 (3) / 6. Jim Moughan Jr. 59 (8) 7. Curtis Boyer 72x (11) 8. AJ Bruns 44 (10) 9. Steve Short 8 (7) 10. Mike Deavers 72 (9) 11. McMahan 11H (6)

K. Kinser jumped out to an early advantage before a lap two spin by Short.  The restart saw K. Kinser leading Sides, Paulus, McMahan, Hockett and Allard back to green.  Two laps later McMahan would come to a stop with motor problems.  Sides took the lead from K. Kinser on the restart and never looked back.  Allard and Hockett exchanged several slide jobs in a battle for fourth.

Heat three (started): 1. Jason Meyers 14 (1) 2. Joey Saldana 2 (2) 3. Brian Brown 6 (4) 4. Tatnell 66 (6) 5. Ricky Logan 17G (3) / 6. Bob Bennett 3 (8) 7. Terry Babb 88 (11) 8. Jason Keith 28x (10) 9. Alex Shanks 55B (9) 10. Crocker 16 (5) 11. Brandon Wimmer 7TW (7)

Crocker bumped Logan at the start line, spun sideways and collected Babb and Wimmer.  All would continue, Crocker would change a tire, while Wimmer had something wrong in the front end.  Saldana and Meyers were the class of the field reaching lap traffic with four to go.  Saldana led until two to go, when Meyers got around him in traffic.  Tatnell grabbed fourth from Logan in turn four coming for the checkered.

Heat four (started): 1. Jerrod Hull 12 (2) 2. Dollansky 7 (5) 3. Tim Montgomery 32 (8) 4. Pittman 21 (6) 5. Tim Vandervere 7v (11) / 6. Shane Stewart 4m (3) 7. Tommy Worley Jr. 56 (1) 8. Joey Montgomery 21c (7) 9. Kaley Gharst 44G (9) 10. Matthews 98 (12) 11. Randy Anderson R19 (4) 12. Kent Buckley 1* (10)

Stewart led early in an interesting heat.  Pittman and Anderson were racing hard.  When Pittman attempted a slide job that came up short, Anderson ended up into the wall on lap four.  Stewart, the leader, had mud packed in his right rear causing enough of a vibration to head to the work area and surrender the point to Hull.  The restart saw Hull leading Dollansky, J. Montgomery, Worley and T. Montgomery.  Three slicing and dicing laps later, Buckley spun.  Hull still led over Dollansky, T. Montgomery, Pittman and Vandevere.  Vandevere found the bottom to his liking and was impressive in holding off Stewart the final three laps for the last transfer spot.

C main (started): 1. Deavers (1) 2. Gharst (3) / 3. Bruns (4) 4. Matthews (10) 5. Keith (5) 6. Babb (9) 7. Shanks (2) 8. Souders (7) 9. Buckley (6) 10. Boyer (8) DNS – Hunt

Deavers led flag to flag in the non-stop event.  Matthews grabbed fourth after a nice duel with Keith on the final lap.

Dash one (started): 1. Sides (1) 2. Allard (2) 3. Walker (6) 4. Logan (5) 5. Hull (7) 6. Shaffer (4) 7. Pittman (3) DNS – Paulus

Allard slid the lead from Sides in turn two of the first lap.  A lap later Sides would return the favor.  Pittman and Shaffer were battling on lap five, when Pittman jumped the cushion and got into the wall.  He left on the hook.  Shaffer was running fourth with two laps to go, when he too, got into the wall and coasted home sixth.

Dash two (started): 1. Schatz (2) 2. Dollansky (3) 3. Saldana (7) 4. Tatnell (4) 5. S. Kinser (6) 6. K. Kinser (8) 7. Brown (1) 8. Hockett (5)

Schatz led flag to flag.  The best racing happened back in the pack between K. Kinser, Brown and Hockett.

B main (started):  1. Stewart (5) 2. Lasoski (3) 3. McMahan (1) 4. Crocker (2) / 5. Bennett (13) 6. Carlson (7) 7. Worley (6) 8. J. Montgomery (10) 9. Short (8) 10. Deavers (15) 11. Moughan (12) 12. Wimmer (9) 13. Landolt (14) 14. Gharst (16) 15. Lutar (11) 16. Anderson (4)

McMahan took the early lead before Lasoski got by on lap two.  Anderson had used the top of the track to move into fourth before getting over the cushion and smacking the wall on lap two.  The restart saw Lasoski leading McMahan, Stewart, Carlson and Crocker.  Moughan came to a stop three laps later.  Stewart had moved up to second and took the lead on the restart, while Bennett had move up from row seven into fifth using the low side of the track.  Bennett finally got into a transfer position on lap seven.  Crocker had fallen off the pace into sixth, but found the cushion to her liking, passing both Carlson and Bennett with four laps to go to grab the final transfer by a few feet at the line after a fine battle.

A main (started): 1. Dollansky (4) 2. Pittman (13) 3. Shaffer (11) 4. Walker (5) 5. Sides (1) 6. Saldana (6) 7. Hull (9) 8. McMahan (17) 9. Tatnell (8) 10. Stewart (20) 11. Lasoski (19) 12. Allard (3) 13. K. Kinser (12) 14. Logan (7) 15. Lutar (25) 16. Meyers (21) 17. Brown (14) 18. Hockett (16) 19. Crocker (18) 20. Vandervere (24) 21. Busch (22) 22. T. Montgomery (23) 23. Paulus (15) 24. Schatz (2) 25. S. Kinser (10)

Schatz flipped on the initial try at green, trying to squeeze between Sides and the wall.  Schatz flipped over Sides causing side panel damage to the 7s.  The wing was repaired after, on the restart, S. Kinser jumped a tire and flipped into the turn one wall.  Dollansky took an advantage he would never give up when the race finally got underway.  McMahan and Paulus visited the work area and restarted at the tail after the fray.  Rubber was found in the middle of the track, though passing was plentiful.  The race went non-stop until Shaffer’s right rear exploded on lap 29 of 40.  At the time, Dollansky led Sides (who had a right rear deflating), Pittman, Walker, Saldana and Hull.  Meyers was the next to lose a tire on lap 35.  Dollansky still led a deflating Sides, Pittman, Walker, and Hull.  Shaffer had moved up to seventh after gaining new rubber, and moved up to fourth in the next two laps before Crocker spun collecting K. Kinser and Hockett.  Dollansky would hold on, while Pittman was effective in blocking a faster Shaffer.  Sides faded to fifth on his deflating Hoosiers.  The win was Dollansky’s first of the season and paid him $10,000.
