Kerry Madsen (29th car out to time) showed why he is the track record holder, coming out late in time trials and registering quick time at 15.750 seconds, which was worth $200. Wayne Johnson (8th car out) was second quick, followed by Skip Jackson (3rd), Calvin Landis (31st), Jesse Giannetto (30th), Jason Johnson (LA) (4th), Ricky Logan (10th), Jeremy Campbell (12th), Jeff Mitrisin (56th) and John Sernett (38th). Shane Dayney and Wayne Modjeski both spun in time trials and only registered one lap on the clock.

Last Chance Heat (started): 1. Jerrol Slinkard 15x (1) 2. Wayne Modjeski 77 (3) 3. Andy Hunt 9A (2) 4. Dan Owings 19K (8) / 5. Steve Meyer 85m (4) 6. Robert Bell 71 (5) 7. Chris Maurer 1J* (6) 8. Brent Laursen 4 (9) 9. Rusty Egan 50 (10) 10. Shane Dayney 53D (7)

The top four finishers transferred to the back of the twin B's. Slinkard jumped out to an early lead before a lap two spin by S. Meyer, who was running fourth. Owings used the high side to move up four spots for the final transfer. S. Meyer charged back, but came up just short of passing Owings for a B main spot.

Running on the cushion was definitely the fast way around. Neitzel jumped out to an early lead in the eight lapper. Madsen was close behind, and grabbed the point on the last lap in heavy traffic. He won a nose wing from Fast Wings for his efforts. Mitrisin was piloting the Forbrook 5.

Heat two (started): 1. Randy Anderson R19 (2) 2. Mike Moore 69 (1) 3. John Sernett 91 (4) 4. Wayne Johnson 14AJ (6) / 5. Jason Johnson (LA) 50D (5) 6. Clint Garner 40 (3) 7. Roger Rager 6R (7) 8. Ra. Anderson led flag to flag to win a front wing from Fast Wings. Warren spun on lap three bringing out a caution. The Johnsons were in a heated battle for fifth at the time. With two to go, W. Johnson made it three wide when he squeezed between Garner and the fence for fourth, and the final transfer to the A.

Heat three (started): 1. John VanDenBerg V10 (1) 2. Tim Kaeding 83JR (4) 3. Skip Jackson 2 (6) 4. Ricky Logan 17G (5) / 5. Scott Biertzer 4B (8) 6. Billy Alley 22A (9) 7. Jason Johnson (WI) 44 (2) 8. VanDenBerg led the distance, but had to hold off Kaeding's repeated challenges. Kaeding came up a few feet short at the line. VanDenBerg won a front wing from Hepfner racing products. Logan was able to gain the fourth and final transfer from Biertzer on the last lap, after Biertzer held down the position for most of the contest. Alley was unable to hot lap due to mechanical difficulties, and did not time well.

Heat four (started): 1. Travis Cram 92 (1) 2. John Haeni 21J (2) 3. Jason Solwold 18 (4) 4. Jeremy Campbell 10c (5) / 5. Mike Reinke 02 (3) 6. Calvin Landis 70 (6) 7. Jeff Johnson 11J (7) 8. Larry Ball Jr. 7x (9) 9. Johnny Anderson 7a (10) 10. Stacey Alexander 126* (8) 11. Rod Richards 5R* (11) 12. Bill Wirth 53w (12)

Cram left the rest of the field behind in the non-stop affair. Campbell battled with Reinke, and grabbed the last transfer spot with three to go. Landis slowed down the frontstretch coming for the checkered flag, and Jeff Johnson ran over his right rear. Both were able to start the B. Cram won fuel from Darnell Oil Co. for his win.

Bmain #1 (started): 1. Jason Johnson (LA) (2) 2. Landis (1) 3. Garner (3) 4. Reinke (4) / 5. Biertzer (8) 6. C. Meyer (5) 7. Alley (10) 8. Ryan Anderson 71R (6) 9. Kertscher (7) 10. Davis (11) .... Also: Symoens (9), Irwin (12), Bartz (13), D. Uttech (14), S. Uttech (15), Hunt (16), Slinkard (17) DNS - Ebler

Jason Johnson led throughout, with traffic playing a huge part. Garner and Reinke had the best battle going, with Garner grabbing third in heavy traffic on the last go-around. Biertzer raced strong, but was again the odd man out for a transfer. A Hoosier right rear tire went to the winner.

B main #2 (started): 1. Giannetto (1) 2. Rager (5) 3. Jeffrey (2) 4. Mock (3) / 5. Jeff Johnson (6) 6. Jason Johnson (WI) (4) 7. St. Arnold* (9) 8. Young (11) 9. Ball (10) 10. Warren (13) 11. J. Anderson (12) 12. Alexander* (8) 13. Melis (7) 14. Modjeski (17) 15. Stefka (15) 16. Richards* (14) 17. Wirth (16) 18. Owings (18)

Giannetto got the jump on Jeffrey and led until a lap five caution for a spun Melis. Melis was running sixth at the time. Giannetto led Jeffrey, Rager, Mock and Jeff Johnson back to the green flag. They stayed in that order with one exception. Rager was able to move by Jeffrey in the final corner to take second. Giannetto earned a front Weld wheel for his win.

A main (started): 1. Mitrisin (3) 2. Madsen (8) 3. Sernett (2) 4. Campbell (4) 5. Jackson (6) 6. W. Johnson (7) 7. Kaeding (14) 8. VanDenBerg (10) 9. Solwold (15) 10. Landis (11) 11. Haeni (21) 12. Logan (5) 13. Mock (18) 14. Rager (24) 15. Randy Anderson (1) 16. Reinke (19) 17. Higday (22) 18. Jeffrey (16) 19. Neitzel (20) 20. Moore (23) 21. Garner (17) 22. Jason Johnson (LA) (13) 23. Giannetto (12) 24. Cram (9)

Sernett jumped out to the early lead in the 25 lapper, with Mitrisin in tow. Cram brought out a caution on lap two. Sernett led Mitrisin, Campbell, Randy Anderson and Madsen back to green flag racing. Three laps later, Neitzel spun in turn three. Under caution, Cram apparently had something break in his front end, sending him into the infield guardrail. He was uninjured, but done for the night. Only one more lap could be completed when Giannetto appeared to lose a motor on the frontstretch while running in the top ten. Jason Johnson was also in the top ten when he pulled off the backstretch. Work area repairs were not enough as he dropped out a short time later. A lap six restart saw Sernett leading over Mitrisin, Campbell, Madsen and Jackson. Just four laps later, the leaders found rubber developing and it was a race back to traffic. On lap 12, Mitrisin made his move to the point when Sernett, who was developing a push, hesitated behind the lapped car of Moore. Lap 15 saw Garner come to a rest in turn two, bringing out the final caution. Mitrisin took command and pulled away from the rest of the field. Madsen was able to capture second with five laps to go. Fifth through eighth place weren't decided until the final lap as all were in close quarters. Both Haeni and Rager passed 10 cars in the event, earning hard-charger honors. $300 was put up for hard-charger by Allan Holland and Doug Johnson. $200 was awarded to the highest finishing 360 (St. Arnold) with the second highest finishing 360 (S. Alexander) earning an extra $100.

Thompson grabbed the lead and had no peer, winning by half a lap. There was great racing for second, however, as a blanket could have been thrown over Farren, Sylvester, Van Haaften and Lamb.

A main (started): 1. Thompson (14) 2. Van Haaften (8) 3. Tanner (11) 4. Lenz (9) 5. DeMann (5) 6. Crabb (13) 7. Stephenson (1) 8. Andrews (4) 9. Bell (7) 10. Farren (12) 11. Lamb (6) 12. Graves (3) 13. Dawson (2) 14. Sylvester (10)

Thompson went from the tail to first in two and a half laps. After a rough attempt at a start, the race saw several charges, including Tanner who moved up eight spots. Don Long put up an extra $300 for third, which was snatched up by Tanner.
