(Bill W) April 5, 2019, Monroe, IA – The Midwest Thunder Sprints Presented by OpenWheel101.com returns for its third year, starting this Saturday and Sunday in Iowa and Illinois! The IRA and MOWA series converge Saturday night at 34 Raceway near West Burlington, Iowa, while Sunday (rescheduled from Friday night), the MOWA hits Jacksonville Speedway in Illinois.
The series pays a point fund each year, with resources collected from race fans and supporters of www.OpenWheel101.com. Allan Holland of Hoseheads.com returns, along with TheCushion.com, race fan Jim Harris of Omaha, and The Podium Awards of Newport, Pennsylvania. The goal is to raise even more funds to pay out in 2019! Contact Bill Wright at the address below for more information! 100% of proceeds go towards the point fund!
For the second year in a row, Kerry Madsen took home the winner’s share with the Midwest Thunder Sprint Car Series presented by www.OpenWheel101.com in 2018! The series had 62 events, and saw a total of 24 different winners.
Kerry won eight times with the series, while Brian Brown finished second with seven wins. Austin McCarl (five wins) was third in the standings, ahead of Terry McCarl, Brooke Tatnell (one win), Scotty Thiel (four wins), Davey Heskin, Bill Balog (two wins), Cory Eliason (one win) and Matt Juhl (one win) (complete point standings are below).
Thanks to Allan Holland of Hoseheads.com, race fan Jim Harris of Omaha, and TheCushion.com, the top three in points (Madsen, Brown and Austin McCarl) received prize money. The Podium Awards of Newport, Pennsylvania, provided our winner’s trophy. With your help, hopefully, we can raise the bar again in 2019!
