Midgets
One heat got in the books before the night came to an end.
Heat one (started): 1. Mike Welker 12az (6) 2. Ron Kuhn 10K (9) 3. Steve Buckwalter 5x (5) 4. Jimmy Voitel 14 (2) 5. Frank Polimeda 44 (10) 6. Kenny Adams Jr. 17K (3) 7. David Shirk 2m (7) 8. Ken Dull 56 (1) 9. Matt Hummel 52 (8) 10. Tony Rossi 14R (4)
Voitel and Dull took turns at the lead the first half a lap, but Welker smoked them in turn three and led the distance. R. Kuhn ran steadily through the pack to garner second, but his powerplant went up in flames after the checkered flag as the tornado sirens wailed in the city of Knoxville. Buckwalter ran a steady third. Hummel and Rossi retired early.
