Brooke Tatnell (6th car out to time) set quick time at 15.372. Terry McCarl (22nd car out) was second quick, followed by Brian Paulus (11th), Steve Kinser (20th), Jason Sides (23rd), Justin Henderson (24th), Shane Stewart (10th), Kraig Kinser (47th), Billy Alley (32nd) and Paul McMahan (7th). The track stayed heavy all night long with a clear top and bottom groove for some great feature racing action.

Heat one (started): 1. Danny Wood 66 (1) 2. Wayne Johnson 14AJ (2) 3. K. Kinser 11K (5) 4. Johnny Herrera 45x (3) 5. Tatnell 8 (6) / 6. Kerry Madsen 55 (9) 7. Colin Northway 60 (7) 8. Jesse Giannetto D1 (11) 9. Tim St. Arnold 7w (8) 10. Lynton Jeffrey 4AU (10) 11. Kaley Gharst 44G (12) 12. Alley 22 (4)

Wood led flag to flag. Debris from Giannetto's machine brought out two cautions. The first came on lap three, when the order was Wood, Johnson, Herrera, Alley and Tatnell holding the last transfer over K. Kinser. K. Kinser jetted by Tatnell and Alley to move into fourth before the second yellow on lap five of eight. Tatnell disposed of Alley, who looked to be suffering from a miss in the engine to take a transfer and a trip to the dash.

Heat two (started): 1. Tim Shaffer 6 (1) 2. Donny Schatz 15 (2) 3. McMahan 11h (4) 4. McCarl 24 (6) 5. Jason Meyers 14 (3) / 6. Stewart 26 (5) 7. Kevin Swindell 1 (7) 8. Tim Kaeding 83 (9) 9. Jaymie Moyle 5m (8) 10. Eric Vanderploeg 7x (10) 11. Brandon Wimmer 7TW (11) 12. Greg Jones 35x (12)

Shaffer led the distance in a mostly single-file affair. The biggest moves came from McCarl who circled two competitors in turn one on the first lap, and Stewart who lagged as far back as ninth and moved back up one spot out of a transfer.

Heat three (started): 1. Calvin Landis 70 (1) 2. Travis Rilat 35 (2) 3. Paulus 28 (6) 4. Henderson D11 (5) 5. Jason Solwold R19 (4) / 6. Craig Dollansky 7 (7) 7. Jerrel Slinkard 15s (9) 8. Chad Meyer 1w (11) 9. Bob Weuve 19 (12) 10. Danny Lasoski 20 (3) 11. Don Droud Jr. 17G (8) 12. Mike Moore 69 (10)

Moore tumbled in turn two on the initial try at green. He was uninjured, but done for the night. Droud exited on lap two. Landis led the way throughout, leaving the rest of the field behind. With two to go, Lasoski was running second when his engine detonated, going up in a ball of smoke. He would replace it and start the B.

Heat four (started): 1. Skip Jackson 2 (1) 2. Sammy Swindell 5 (3) 3. Brian Brown 21B (2) 4. Sides 7s (5) 5. S. Kinser 11 (6) / 6. Ricky Logan 10 (4) 7. Daryn Pittman 21 (7) 8. Matt Moro 47 (10) 9. Jon Agan 4 (9) 10. Ryan Anderson 71R (11) 11. Tyler Houseman 50 (12) 12. Chris Walraven 56 (8)

Jackson grabbed the early advantage and held it over a late moving S. Swindell by two car lengths. Walraven exited on lap two. Swindell and Brown battled back and forth for second, while Logan could not hold off S. Kinser in the end.

C main (started): 1. Agan (2) 2. Vanderploeg (4) / 3. Moro (6) 4. Slinkard (1) 5. Meyer (5) 6. Anderson (10) 7. Wimmer (8) 8. Weuve (7) 9. Jones (9) 10. Houseman (11) 11. Jeffrey (3) DNS - Moore, Giannetto, Gharst

Agan led flag to flag. The top three finished well ahead of the rest of the pack. Jeffrey exited on lap three.

Dash one (started): 1. K. Kinser (1) 2. Paulus (3) 3. Sides (2) 4. Tatnell (4) 5. Meyers (6) 6. Solwold (5)

K. Kinser dusted the rest. Paulus came on late and stuck it to the low side, getting by both Tatnell and Sides to take the runner-up position.

Dash two (started): 1. McMahan (1) 2. Henderson (2) 3. McCarl (4) 4. S. Kinser (3) 5. S. Swindell (5) 6. Herrera (6)

Henderson jumped out to an early lead before S. Swindell came to a stop on lap two of six on the frontstretch. Henderson led McMahan, S. Kinser, Herrera and McCarl back to green flag racing. McMahan pulled a slider on Henderson for the lead immediately, and McCarl surged past Herrera and S. Kinser to slide into third in impressive fashion before the checkereds fell.

B main (started): 1. Stewart (1) 2. Lasoski (4) 3. Alley (2) 4. Logan (3) / 5. Dollansky (7) 6. Kaeding (14) 7. K. Swindell (6) 8. St. Arnold (9) 9. Northway (5) 10. Vanderploeg (16) 11. Agan (15) 12. Madsen (13) 13. Walraven (12) 14. Pittman (8) 15. Moyle (10) 16. Droud (11)

Stewart led throughout. On lap two of 12, Pittman got sideways. Droud checked up behind him and flipped. He was uninjured. Madsen could not avoid, and slid into Droud. He restarted at the rear. Stewart led Alley, Lasoski, Logan and Dollansky back to green flag racing. The top four held their own to transfer to the main event. Dollansky and Kaeding were left to take provisionals. They were joined by Madsen and Droud.

A main (started): 1. K. Kinser (1) 2. McMahan (2) 3. S. Swindell (10) 4. McCarl (6) 5. S. Kinser (8) 6. Lasoski (16) 7. Paulus (3) 8. Meyers (9) 9. Henderson (4) 10. Tatnell (7) 11. Solwold (11) 12. Sides (5) 13. Stewart (13) 14. Johnson (17) 15. Madsen (26, pr.) 16. Shaffer (23) 17. Schatz (18) 18. Alley (14) 19. Logan (15) 20. Dollansky (25, pr.) 21. Wood (24) 22. Jackson (21) 23. Rilat (19) 24. Herrera (12) 25. Landis (22) 26. Kaeding (27, pr.) 27. Brown (20) 28. Droud (28, pr.)

K. Kinser simply left no doubt about the winner over the entirety of the twenty lapper in his first career Knoxville triumph. The race for second through fifth was a donnybrook, however. The only stoppages came on lap six when Droud stopped to bring out a caution. At the time, K. Kinser led McMahan, Henderson, McCarl, S. Kinser, S. Swindell, Paulus and Lasoski. McCarl and S. Kinser went back and forth at each other, exchanging slide jobs. McCarl would eventually win the position and slide McMahan for second. McMahan battled back and S. Swindell came up through the pack outbattling McCarl at the finish for third. McCarl recorded his third fourth place finish of the year at Knoxville in WoO competition and locked himself into Saturday's program. Madsen was the hard-charger, moving up 11 spots.

360s

Heat one (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Mike Houseman Jr. Y5 (2*) 2. Nate Mosher 22N (8*) 3. Mitchell Alexander 6 (3*) 4. Nate Van Haaften 3 (4) 5. David Hall 51 (5) 6. Ryan Jamison 51J (11) 7. Tom Lenz 8L (9) 8. Nick Eastin 25 (7) 9. Mike Houseman Y2 (6) 10. Chris Parkinson 74 (10) 11. Alan Zoutte 33 (1)

Houseman started at the tail after needing a second push before the race got underway. Houseman Jr. led flag to flag. Mosher turned in his best heat performance of the year in second. Parkinson is the son of Junior Parkinson and was making his first ever Knoxville appearance.

Heat two (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Jake Peters 57x (4*) 2. John Schulz 2 (1*) 3. John Kearney 83B (6*) 4. Brett Mather 54 (2) 5. Bronson Maeschen 96 (9*) 6. Dusty Zomer 1z (7) 7. Davey Heskin 56x (3) 8. Scott Winters R19 (11) 9. Alan Gilbertson 97 (5) 10. Eddie Leavitt Jr. F4 (8) 11. DJ Heskin 56 (10)

Peters circumvented the front row and led throughout. Great racing between Schulz and Kearney saw them exchange second on more than one occasion in a stacked heat. Mather has been hot lately, but couldn't earn an A main transfer, nor could Zomer.

Heat three (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Johnny Anderson 7a (2*) 2. Larry Ball Jr. 5J (3*) 3. Jerry Crabb 12x (1*) 4. Josh Higday 24 (7*) 5. Troy Meyer 11m (4) 6. Frankie Heimbaugh 04 (6) 7. Jeff Mitrisin 10 (5) 8. Bobby Mincer 15 (9) 9. Pete Crall 11 (8) 10. Dustin Selvage 7 (10)

Anderson led flag to flag. The mover was Higday who shot around the cushion up to fourth, earning a transfer. Heimbaugh and Mitrisin battled enough that they couldn't gain ground on the rest.

Heat four (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Joe Beaver 53 (2*) 2. Rager Phillips 9 (1*) 3. Jarod Smith 48 (4*) 4. Eric Mason B29 (6*) 5. Justin Parrish 4G (9*) 6. John Hall 7H (8) 7. Terry Alexander 77 (7) 8. Stevie Walsh 20 (3) 9. Rob Edwards 22 (5) 10. Dan Thornburg 57T (10)

Beaver dominated the event. Thornburg had something break and took it in on lap three. Parrish moved up nicely in his second Knoxville appearance of the year.

C main (started): 1. Houseman (1) 2. Crall (3) / 3. Gilbertson (2) 4. Leavitt (6) 5. DJ Heskin (8) 6. Parkinson (5) 7. Zoutte (9) 8. Selvage (7) 9. Edwards (4) DNS - Thornburg

Houseman led flag to flag with Crall in tow, as the two left the rest in the dust.

B main (started): 1. Jamison (1) 2. Mitrisin (12) 3. Meyer (5) 4. J. Hall (6) / 5. Zomer (7) 6. D. Hall (4) 7. Heimbaugh (9) 8. Davey Heskin (11) 9. Lenz (8) 10. Eastin (15) 11. Mincer (14) 12. T. Alexander (13) 13. Crall (16) 14. Van Haaften (2)15. Houseman (17) 16. Winters (10) 17. Mather (3) DNS - Walsh

Jamison took the early advantage over Mather. Mather clipped the frontstretch wall on lap two of 10, breaking his front end and sending him across the track. Winters had nowhere to go and clipped the 54, ending both their nights. Jamison led Meyer, J. Hall, D. Hall, Zomer and a charging Mitrisin back to green flag racing. Mitrisin was the show in moving up. He passed J. Hall and Meyer on the last lap to grab second. Houseman exited on lap six.

A main (started): 1. Higday (1) 2. Kearney (5) 3. Schulz (3) 4. Peters (10) 5. Mitrisin (18) 6. Anderson (7) 7. Ball (4) 8. Smith (11) 9. Mosher (9) 10. Maeschen (13) 11. Jamison (17) 12. Meyer (19) 13. M. Alexander (12) 14. Houseman Jr. (8) 15. Mason (15) 16. Parrish (16) 17. Crabb (14) 18. J. Hall (20) 19. Beaver (6) 20. Phillips (2)

Higday jumped out to a sizeable lead. On lap two of 15, Beaver and Phillips got together in turn two, ending both of their nights. A restart for debris on lap seven still saw Higday with the lead over Kearney, Schulz, Anderson and Peters. While Anderson and Schulz battled for fourth, Peters entered the fray and moved by Anderson. Mitrisin was on the move as well and got by Anderson to nail a top five, and hard-charger honors. The win was Higday's sixth at Knoxville.
